We have finished our first week of the new school year!  Yea!  It went really well.  I just hope that it continues to go well.  We are doing a little with the Walnut, but he’s only 3, so there is only so much you can do.  The Peanut still takes up most of the time, but we should be back into the full swing of things at the end of week 2, which starts tomorrow.  I am really excited about this year.  We use Sonlight for the majority of our curriculum, and they always do such a great job picking out books.  Even when I don’t think they will be very interesting, they are.  And the kids LOVE them!!  They always want us to keep reading, just one more chapter.  It’s a wonder anything else ever gets done here.  That’s all for now.  Gotta get ready for the big day tomorrow!  I am sure I will have some students who are raring to go!

We are doing math.  She “hates” math.  Actually, she hates addition and subtraction.  Ok, only when the numbers add up to a total of more than 10.  She is quite capable of doing the problems. She just does not like busy work.  She will do anything to get out of work that she has to do alone, especially if I am doing anything other then paying attention to her.  Ahh…such is the life.  But, I have something on her.  She really LIKES science.  Ok, she likes to do science experiments, hands on stuff.  We have a good science project today to work on, so hopefully that will be enough incentive.  If not, then fresh bread in about an hour will be.  Did I mention how much she likes to cook???
