Happy Mothers Day

Well, it’s that time again.  Time to recognize all the mothers in the world.  It is nice to take one day, since most don’t really do anything the rest of the year, right?

JUST KIDDING!! Happy Mothers day to both my mom and my wife!  I hope you both have a wonderful day.  And Mom, if I forget to call, sorry.  I am busy at home with my four kids.  I know you will understand. But I will try to call.

I wish that I could come up with a witty, insightful post about mothers and what they mean to me, but I can’t.  Not right now.  It will likely all come to me next week, when it will be too late.  Perhaps I will try to write it as a draft for next year.  We will see how it goes.  All I do know is that with out a mothers, none of us would be here.  We all pretty much owe her everything, and then some.  So be nice to your mother, or the mother of your children, today.

In other areas, I am getting rather sick of the weather here in Minnesota.  Today we were forecast for a rain/snow mixture in the morning.  It is way too cold for May.  I am sure the ‘professional’ weather people would say there are about 15 days left in the possible snow season for Minnesota.  I would tell them to go shove it. I have lived in Minnesota for nearly my entire life, not counting about 2 years in Peoria, Il ( and I am pretty certain no one would want to count that.  Sorry if you live in Peoria.  The memories I have from 1st and 2nd grade mostly suck. Ok, maybe not.  I liked it there, but I need SOMEWHERE to pick on, right?)

I want to ride my motorcycle in comfort.  Don’t get me wrong.  I have been riding to work.  I dress in the morning in my jacket, sweatshirt, snow pants, heavy gloves and a headband around my neck to keep the wind from coming up my neck into my helmet.  Usually I get to work pretty frozen, but by about 8:30 or 9am I regain feeling in my legs and feet.  The rides home are nice, and well worth the trouble in the morning.

However, I can’t help but imagine what it would be like to live somewhere warmer.  My brother just moved to Phoenix.  I am wondering if his company has a need to a database programmer.
