OK, I really couldn’t think of a good title for this. Every now and then, stuff strikes me as odd, or just wrong. This is one of those times. Today I got the mail, and there was a statement from a credit card company. Now, I know this card has no balance, but the envelope was really thick, so I decided to open it up. Lo and behold, we actually have a CREDIT sitting on this account, and it looks like it has been that way for a few months. The credit is for $1.34, ooh, big money I know. My question is, I OWED them $1.34, they would have charged me interest on it (at 14%) and would have given me a ‘late fee’ and a mark on my credit score had I not made the payment. So….How come they don’t pay me the same interest when they OWE me money? I will have to read the fine print. They also say they will automatically pay out the credit to me after 6 months. But, I can call and request them to send me a check if I would like. What I really want is for them to pay me the same interest on my credit that they charge me when I have a positive balance.
To be honest, it does say that I don’t have a balance with them. I have a credit. So I guess technically, they can’t charge me interest on my ‘negative’ balance, since it is really a credit. Hmm..I wonder if I could use the same logic in my favor?? I doubt it.
That is enough for me for now. Hope you all have a good weekend.
