Getting Better All The Time…

Well, the illness seems to have passed for the most part.  The Walnut is still feeling under the weather.  In fact, he is sleeping today.  Apparently ALL day.  He fell asleep shortly after 10 am and is still asleep.  I just woke him up so that he could go potty.  Since he is sleeping in my bed, I am more concerned with his need to go!

He is now up, still sick, but he wants to play.  Who can argue with a sick three year old?  I am also very tired and was trying to take a little nap on the couch, but the Almond felt that I was a giant Jungle Gym.  They don’t really seem to view their mom that way, just me.  Anyway, I need to get someone lunch, and see how he is feeling.

 Have a great weekend!

Stay Away!

Stay away, FAR AWAY I tell you. This house is marked!  The sickness is here.  So far, Wellness still has the upper hand 3-2, but the balance could shift at any time.  The Peanut has an ear infection, the Almond has both ears infected, the Walnut slept for over 12 hours last night, so I hope he isn’t coming down with something.  My wonderful wife is tired and exhausted.  Right now, I am the only one who seems to be feeling OK, which is completely different than 2 weeks ago when I was the only one sick.  Luckily, they don’t seem to be getting what I had.

I feel terrible for my poor wife.  Last night, she took the Almond to Urgent Care here in PC, only to find they close at 6 PM. (I hope it isn’t TOO urgent!).  She ended up driving to Wyoming (the city, not the state), and get home until 9:30.  All of this with a crying, fussy, sick 19 month old!  I think that next time I tell her that I will take the kid to the doctors, she will probably listen and let me go!

I had a pretty good night here with  the other two.  The Walnut was asleep when I got home (5:40 PM), Woke up three times to use the bathroom, and is still sleeping now, 5:44 AM.  He will not sleep much longer.  I need to get them all up, dressed, feed, medicated, and off to G-ma’s for the day.  Then it is another exciting day for me at work.

Hope you all have a great day, and STAY AWAY FROM HERE!

Sick Peanut

The Peanut is sick, she has an ear infection.  You would think that her head was falling off.  I feel bad for her, but my sympathy only goes so far.  She thinks I am mean to her because I won’t give in to her every desire.  I really hope she feels better, she is no fun when she is sick.

We had a pretty good time last night after she realized that her whining and screaming wasn’t going to work.  The Walnut and her, and I found Waldo on many pages, and were even able to find the ‘True’ Waldo and his shoe. (With a little help from Google!)  I know that sound like cheating, but they don’t give very good hints as to where he is, just a general area of the page, so we still had to look and find it.

Work

My work is slowly taking over my life, we not really.  My kids make sure that work doesn’t take over, as long as they are awake.  But it is slowly taking over my sleep life, dreams that is.  I am frequently finding myself solving work related programming problems in my sleep, and also discovering various other problems that I didn’t know existed.  I haven’t yet had the dream where I get fired.  I guess that is a good thing.  I feel that I need to get some type of way to record my dreams though, perhaps a notepad.  That seems so archaic, isn’t there a Dream DVR yet that I could but, then just replay the good parts and fast forward through the boring.

Ah well, I guess I will just have to remember what I dreamt and hope to get something out of it. It was a good dream, solved lot of problems and everyone was happy. We will see when I get to work today.  It would be much easier if I could program here at home, but I can’t, at least not on work stuff.

Have a great day.

New Post

Well, this here is for all the people who want me to write more.  The problems is that I just don’t have anything to write about!  I guess there is all sort of stuff, little trivial things, but really, how much can one guy write.  It’s not like I have a bunch of yarn to write about, and I really don’t think anyone would be interested in my work.

I will write a little about the Walnut.  The W is 3 1/2 now and really like to say things you don’t expect.  The other day, he was out in the hot tub with Mom, his Aunt, and the Peanut. They have such a great time out there.   After he got out, he came downstair, naked.  He was looking around, searching.  All of a sudden he asks me something that sounds like “Dad, have you seen my peanuts?”  It took me a second to realize what he said, and I politely told him, “That doesn’t come off.”  Not really true, but we don’t need to go into THAT with a 3 year old.  After much concern from him, I finally convinced the little guy that it was still there and he should go get dressed.  It’s a hard conversation to have without laughing.

The other item on the Walnut’s sayings is when I went to get him some chocolate milk.  I put the chocolate syrup in the cup, then poured in the milk and went to put the milk away. This was my mistake.  In the 2 seconds it took me to put away the milk, the W took the cup to shake it up and mix the milk.  Except that I hadn’t screwed the top of the cup on!  In a flash I yelled, ‘Noooooooo!’, all drawn out in slow motion like in the movies.  But alas, it was too late.  To top flew into the air, with the milk.  All over the floor, walls, and ME.  While I was cleaning, W kept saying, “I guess the top just wasn’t on very tight!”  You can say that again.

Hope you all have a great day.
